Vantage Asia Publishing Limited
China Business Law Journal is being launched by Vantage Asia Publishing Limited, an independent publisher based in Hong Kong. The journal will be published 10 times a year (monthly with the exception of combined issues for July/August and December/January) in a fully-bilingual format. The launch issue is provisionally scheduled for September 2009.

Our editorial team

China Business Law Journal’s editorial team includes China-focused professionals with more than 40 years’ combined experience in leading media groups and a top international law firm.

The journal’s editor, Robin Weir, is a solicitor qualified in England and Wales. Robin has unique experience in both legal practice and legal publishing. Prior to joining Vantage Asia, he worked as an associate in the corporate department of Linklaters in London, and, as a Mandarin speaker, spent time in Linklaters’ Beijing office. Earlier in his career, he worked in Hong Kong and Beijing for seven years and was the editor of the journals China Joint Venturer and China Staff. Robin speaks and reads Chinese and has a degree in Chinese Studies from the University of Cambridge.

China Business Law Journal’s executive editor is Chris Hunter, a distinguished legal commentator with over 20 years’ experience working with publishing organizations covering China. Prior to joining Vantage Asia in early 2007, his most recent position was with the Financial Times Group (Asia). He was the managing editor of China Law & Practice from 1993 to 1998 and consultant editor from 1998 to 2001.

Additional guidance and vision is provided by China Business Law Journal’s editorial board. Members include prominent business leaders, lawyers and academics from a diverse range of China-based and international organizations including the Bank of China, AT&T, Google, TCL, Danone, China Life Insurance, Motorola, Citibank, Jones Lang LaSalle, Standard Chartered, Sony Ericsson, Marriot and many others.
